Road names it goes by or to get there:
FSR105, Hagerman Pass Rd, Ivanjoe Lake Rd, CR-4, Frying Pan Rd
Length of road:
62 miles
How Challenging:
This is a 2, however with snow more like an 8
My Take:
The roads to get there start in Leadville or Basalt and take you through Lake County, Pitkin County, and Eagle County. The first part of the road is paved, then when you come to the split it turns to dirt. We only made it part way up do to the snow conditions, there was no traction for the bike to head upwards. However what I did see was a nice road, that has some scenic views.
Map of the road:
The start of the dirt section:
As we went up there was snow on the road:
Further up the road was mostly snow covered:
We came to a spot with a great view:
Looking down at Ivanhoe Lake:
It looked like we could continue up, and possible make it to the pass:
Then we got up that last dirt section and it was all snow covered, just not enough traction and the bike would just dig in too easily, so we turned around at this point. So more to come probably next spring/summer on this pass:
